Fundraisers

 When I was visiting my friends at Gigglepigs for the first time, I saw how hard Tara and Ian worked and the scale of quite how much time and money goes into running a rescue. I was determined to think of more that I could do to help, besides sending them supplies and funds myself. I was trying so hard to think of things I could do to get humans involved in helping when Immy reminded me that it was my birthday coming up. I decided to hold a charity dinner as my birthday party! 

 My wonderful friends at the amazing and famous restaurant in London, Langan’s Brasserie (where I have my own table), were incredible in helping me to put it on! I could not believe my eyes when I saw the stunning private dining room, balloons with my name on and the menus with pigtures of piggies on! None of my human guests were PigParents, so I wanted to help them understand why there are so many piggies needing our help and what’s involved in actually running a rescue. 

 Tara and Ian made a brilliant video for me to show, explaining exactly what they do and the time and costs involved. Some of my friends were in the video, including Heather, Pumpkin and survival hero Walter! My human guests were very shocked to learn that at Gigglepigs alone, there were over 140 unwanted piggies who had been forced to seek safety and shelter. 

I asked my guests to donate, or to send supplies from Gigglepigs’ Amazon wishlist. I was overwhelmed by their generosity and concern for piggies in need! I am incredibly proud that at my 4th birthday party, I raised the incredible sum of £2,559!! The same as with everything for Patch’s Piggy Trust, my family paid for my party, so that I could give 100% of what was raised to the rescue, so everybody’s generous donations would go to the piggies in full. 

 Immy was so proud of me and as a result of the success of my birthday party, she agreed to get me a lawyer, so I could set up Patch’s Piggy Trust as a registered UK charity! Just when I thought the excitement of my birthday party was over, I could not believe it when the famous publication Hello! Magazine contacted us about writing an article about me! It was an honour to have my birthday party and philanthropig work covered by such a respected publication! I really could not believe my eyes when Immy showed me a copy of Hello! and it contained photographs of me at my birthday party!

 I am very grateful to Langan’s Brasserie and my human guests at my birthday party because without the success of this wonderful event, I wouldn’t have known how much support there would be for piggies in need and I don’t know if I’d have gone on to set up Patch’s Piggy Trust as a registered charity! I’m extremely proud of how much I’ve been able to help piggies who’ve been less fortunate than I have in life.
